Biz Review — The Best French Bakery

The best french bakery in Fort Lauderdale has to be Croissan’Time.

The worst thing about them? They’re closed on Mondays. :-/

Croissan’Time is one of the best breakfast/bakery spots I’ve seen or been to in my life! It’s situated in a shopping plaza just a mile or two from the Atlantic shore. There’s seating outdoors and nothing short of a smorgasbord worth of menu options inside.

Just past the front door, which clearly indicates their “affinity” for working Mondays, you’re greeted with a checkout counter directly in front of you. Turn left, and be overwhelmed with the bounty of baked goods before your eyes.

They sell juices, wines and everything baked, dipped, glazed or cream-filled. If I were to take a guess, I’d say there’s about 200 menu options from which to choose.

Holly and I spent about $40 for brunch. It was overkill though, but definitely worth every penny. When it was our turn to order, we casually opted for one coffee, a mimosa, a croissant, a double-dipped chocolate strawberry and some sort of chocolate-filled donut thing. We topped everything off with two spinach quiches.

It was the most amazing breakfast and a fantastic way to start our first day in Florida.

There’s something about that part of Florida. There’s obviously lots of money down there. But there’s also a diverse and evident culture focused on great — and mostly healthy — food. I’m not saying it’d rival grand bakeries in parts of Europe, but it’s an order-of-magnitude better than what the “biggest small town” known as Fort Wayne has to offer. There are plenty of vegan and juice places to feed a health-centric appetite!

Here’s a vlog video of our experience at Croissan’Time! Enjoy!
